Things to do in the Adirondacks
Old Forge, NY is a great place to spend your vacation. With its gorgeous Adirondack Mountains, there are plenty of activities to enjoy year-round. Here is a list of some of our favorite activities and attractions!
AREA RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES
Golfing
For golf enthusiasts, Thendara Golf Club and Inlet Golf Club both are 18 hole courses with restaurant/bar. Offering a challenging and scenic layout to players of all skill levels.
Rafting & Kayaking
Flat water or white water opportunities abound in the central Adirondacks. For a leisurely, beautiful paddle on the middle branch of the Moose River or the exciting rapids with miles of scenic views and guided rafting- take your pick.
Boating & Fishing
Boating-Old Forge is located at the beginning of the Fulton Chain of Lakes starting beside Old Forge pond and following north to Inlet- a 12 mile stretch. The Fulton Chain offers excellent fishing, boating, places to moor along the way for swimming, as well as some great restaurants to get to by boat.
Hiking & Biking
If you’re looking for a more active way to explore Old Forge, the area is home to a variety of trails. From the easy scenic nature hikes to steep, defying bike trails- we have it all.
Shopping
Old Forge is also home to some great shopping. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs, antiques, or just a local treasure, the downtown area has plenty of stores to explore. Souvenir Village and the Old Forge Hardware store are both a must shop stop.
Skiing & Snowboarding
From long cruisers to steep bumps and glades, to double back diamond challengers, McCauley Mountain has it all. Small mountain Big attitude. Take your pick of Nordic skiing trails ALL OVER.
Snowmobiling
The Town of Webb and Inlet snowmobile trails system winds through the forests and woodlands around lakes and climbs along mountains on groomed, well-marked trails. Permits are required. Town of Webb Information Center- 315-369-6983
